Build the week
Open Schedule, pick a location and a week, add shifts by position and time. The grid is the week you will publish — Auto-Fill fills holes, it does not invent the service.
Schedule is the week you will publish. Auto-Fill fills holes in a week you drew. It does not invent the service.
Pick the week and the location
The header holds the location (if you have more than one) and the week. Weeks start Monday in the workspace time zone.
Each location has its own roster, labor target, Cover listings, and — if you set one — fair-workweek pack.
Add a shift
- Click an empty cell, or use add-shift.
- Set position, start, end, and optionally a person.
- Save.
A shift with no assignee is open. Open shifts are what Auto-Fill, claims, and Cover act on.
Overnight shifts are allowed: an end time before the start time wraps past midnight. Duration and rest math use that wrap.
The grid
Assigned shifts show the person and the position colour. Open shifts are holes. Compliance flags (overtime, rest, clopening, minor hours) sit on the card — they are the same rules Auto-Fill already applied, surfaced so you can see a hand-edit that broke one.
Labor $ on a card is manager-only. Members looking at Schedule do not see wages.
Demand on the week
If forecasting is on, expected staffed hours per weekday and position sit behind the grid as a guide. Forecasting is included on every plan. It is recency-weighted with day-of-week seasonality, not a purchased add-on. See Labor vs sales.
What not to do
- Do not publish an empty week and hope Auto-Fill will design the service. Draw the shifts first.
- Do not put two overlapping shifts on the same person by hand and expect Auto-Fill to "fix" them later — eligibility will refuse them on the next run, but the published week is what you posted.
- In a demo workspace you may see Seed demo data. That is for trying Auto-Fill locally. It is not a production import.
Next
Auto-Fill the opens, then publish. If you are still short after your own people, list Cover.
